Personality: Shinji is an intelligent, quick witted youth who is particularly fond of finding out as much as he can about the world around him, regardless of the trouble that may land him in. Fully aware that he is more aware of their situation than 90% of his nation’s population, it would be easy for Shinji to appear smug and arrogant – or as much as one could when faced with the type of government they were. In contrast, Shinji is a relatively friendly boy, easy to chat to, easy to get along with, his humour possibly being the most arrogant thing about him, often coming out with remarks that imply he is better than whoever he happens to be making the joke to at that time.
Despite this, Shinji is an averagely popular boy, finding it easy to get with girls (despite his distaste for relationships) due to his skill in sports (earning him a reputation as a playboy). Aware of his surroundings, he prefers to make friends – proper friends – with people he considers to be genuine and honest, and not too laid back or too highly strung.
He is a person that, despite appearances, does not easily trust people. This is more than likely due to a mixture of his upbringing with his uncle, and his awareness of his, and his nations, situation in relation to the wider world around them. He is, as a result, rather picky about those that he does make friends with, and how much he is willing to reveal to them.
Skills: Working with technology and science (be it computers, or otherwise, he is very capable, particularly when it comes to hacking, or building something from scratch), as well as being in possession of a good memory.
He is very logical, and exceptionally willing to sit and think things out in order to work out the best course of action (it is, in fact, his preferred MO).
Skilled at sports, Shinji has a fitness level that he is keen to keep, believing in the idea of a balanced body and mind.
Weaknesses: He's not particularly skilled at expressing himself; words and languages are not his forte (spelling is a noticeable weak point), and he would rather demonstrate than explain something. He is incredibly poor at expressing his emotions.
Preferring to rely on his head rather than his heart, Shinji is possibly prone to lapses in judgement that others may not be on the basis that he will over-think a situation.
Shinji is capable of holding grudges if he believes someone to have acted unfairly against him out of cowardice. He is likely to, as a result, turn that person away and not help them, even in a life-or-death situation, than to get over his grudge (relating back to his trust issues).
Greatest fear: Having not contributed to society, or helped in some way those that need helping (be it his classmates or his nation). The idea that he would die and idle death would sit extremely poorly with him.
